It is made in Peyote Stitch: an off-loom bead weaving technique. Each added bead is “sewn” into place, producing a fabric of tightly integrated beads and leaving no evidence of the thread that connects them. I used white and red Rocailles. The pattern comes from Latvian folklore: it calls Auseklis or Morning star. Auseklis was a Latvian god, and the personification of the celestial body Venus. He is third most popular deity in Latvian mythology after Saule (the Sun) Latvian mythology after and Mēnes (the Moon). It’s used for protection against evil spirits.

It's a very nice and original idea to pimp a bag. And I like your story about the back ground of this pattern. It's a pity I can't enlarge the photo, to see the pattern better. But so far I can see it now, I like it very much.
